Cred is the top startup and Benagluru is the top startup Hub in India: Linkedin

LinkedIn has released the list of the top startups in its annual report. The list has 25 startups. LinkedIn examined the data from July 2021 to June 2022 across the four parameters to come up with this list: employee growth, jobseeker interest, member engagement within the company and its employees, and ability to attract talent and retain that talent (source: Linkedin Top Companies list).

Here’s the list of 25 companies that LinkedIn termed as Top Startups 2022 India list.

  19. Ultrahuman
  20. Living Food

  23. Stanza Living
  24. Pocket FM
  25. Zypp Electric

The list was topped by the fintech company Cred, which entered the club of unicorn last year. Cred was founded and is led by Kunal Shah. It was followed by the Edtech unicorn upGrad, which is ranked second in the list, followed by Groww, which provides a platform for investment. It grabbed the third spot on the list.

Managing Editor at LinkedIn News India, Nirajita Banerjee, said in a statement,“the Indian startup ecosystem displays great resilience as we continue to see the rise of new startups with 68% of entrants on the list appearing for the first time. These startups are navigating the uncertain macro environment by optimising their businesses for sustainable growth and taking a more prudent approach towards scaling up their business.”

The list also featured new startups, including startup Zepto in the fourth spot, followed by Spinny in the seventh spot, a car-selling platform. Other new startup firms include Ditto Insurance-tech company, Ultrahuman (fitness platform) and Living Food (fresh food delivery platform).

Bengaluru was established as the “Silicon Valley of India”. The list has 13 of the top 25 startups based out of Bengaluru.

Nirajita Banerjee also added, “It’s also great to see young professionals embrace India’s startup ecosystem, with 56% of all hires in the top 25 startups being aged below 30, and 17% aged below 25, at the time of joining. This list is a great resource for job seekers excited by the opportunity to innovate, solve big problems, and grow their skills within these startups.”
