Story of 13 years old food blogger : Suhana Bhasin

1. Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

I’m Suhana Bhasin, currently studying in 8th rade, in Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai. I blog under the name of ‘ FOODIES HOGTOWN’ as a full-time food blogger. When I’m stuck at the keyboard, all I think about is food.

FOODIES HOGTOWN was established in early 2019 and it covers food trends, restaurants, and various food concepts. I love trying new restaurants and different cuisines. My restaurant’s reviews are transparent and display my love for good food trends.

2. Describe how did you first get into blogging?

I always had a food story worth sharing with people who cared to see and hear it. I followed many food bloggers and food-related youtube videos and understood how they found success, after which I was determined to carve a niche for myself in the blogosphere. It took me a long time to understand my interest but now ‘food blogger’, is the title I am most particular about.

3. Your age is 13 how you will manage all these things like social media and photoshoot?

I believe in planning and exercising control of time spent in balancing activities like academics, dance, kickboxing, drawing, and various other classes. I strongly believe prioritizing one thing at a time. I usually schedule my day a night prior and this surely is the key tenet of time management for all child bloggers of my age. I make sure that I squeeze in some extra blogging time every day between my school rotation and time to go to bed.

4. Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?

I really think feeling demotivated brought about significant growth and want for bringing about a change and purpose in my life. I felt the need for commitment towards my passion for food Realizing my interest in cooking, blog writing, and photography, I decided to come up with ‘FOODIES HOGTOWN’, my food blogging journal.

I am a food enthusiast who enjoys experiences at various restaurants, experimenting with different kinds of cuisines and guiding people where to head if they are looking for a particular kind of food. It is my space where I share my thoughts without any fear or favor.

5. What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

Reaching out to people of similar interests with fresh and original content daily should be of prime importance. Regular blogging is really important to engage every reader. Generating a blog of integrity that people enjoy will always define the blog’s success. Always believe in social media because that is the best way to stay connected and move ahead.

6. How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?

I usually give my self a deadline and this now has become a habit. My weekends are dedicated to working deeply on ‘FOODIES HOGTOWN’. Organization and planning wisely gave me a feeling of control and increases my output. I minutely observe my routine and allocate fixed blogging hours. The key to time management is scheduling.

7. Tell me about your proudest achievement?

I have always been a very private person and people termed me as an introvert. After I started blogging, I feel much more self-confident and the pride of recognition has set in. Since all my social media handles are open to the public, I’m now interacting with strangers with a lot more ease. This complete drift in my personality is something me and my family are so proud of. Even my friends in school express their pride in my food blogging achievements.

8. What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?

Consistency is the most challenging part of blogging. Quality content along with regularity requires overcoming a lot of hurdles such as forgoing a lot of me-time. Maintaining content that attracts traffic and gains followers is yet another challenging aspect for a young blogger like me. My young age and limited knowhow also need constant research work for which my brother really helps me. I believe one can overcome all challenges with hard work and focus.

9. Can you name some of your favorite bloggers and explain why they are your favorites?

My favorite blogger is my aunt ‘chefguntas’. I simply idolize her as she blogs about a variety of foods and confectionery. These are all handmade by her straight from the kitchen of her house. These are all handmade by her straight from her home kitchen. I like the way she has educated herself in the field of cookery and is furthermore practicing it with all heart. Her passion for food blogging is visible through her consistent work orders.

10.Do you have any specific goals for the rest of this year?

My goal for 2019-2020 is to develop my blogging website, Instagram, facebook and twitter also push my self to another level where I am focused and work hard for my academic results. Currently, I consider myself as a small-time food blogger, in the following year I wish to do things that spark my curiosity and passion at the same keep creativity flowing.

11. Did you have any professional help or did you created the blog yourself?

No, I did not take professional help for my blogging. I am very fortunate to have a supportive family who has encouraged me to follow my dreams. My brother helped me to come up with the entire concept of food blogging.

12. How much time do you spend blogging?

On school days I can’t spend the whole day working but I try to at least spend an hour blogging no matter what happens. On weekends I at least spend the whole day only blogging and developing my website. As a full-time blogger, all my content needs constant updating and this requires dedication.

13. What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a food blogger?

The excitement to share my food experiences keeps me involved. My readers and followers provide me with constant positive reviews which make me feel special and push me further towards betterment.
