Deadline for the new WhatsApp policy is here.

WhatsApp as a company which is owned by Facebook made certain policy changes and set the earlier deadline of accepting it by 8th February 2021 but after so much criticism and fear of data being shared among the masses, the deadline was shifted to May 15, 2021. The Indian government also asked WhatsApp to withdraw its policy from the country.

However certain big changes have been made in the new privacy policy of WhatsApp which users will now have to accept to continue using the app. The new privacy policy focuses on updating the app which gives app details on how WhatsApp services and data are being handled by other social media integration of Facebook including Instagram and facebook messenger.

WhatsApp says that no account or functionality will be deleted from the user profile on May 15 because of this update and it will be applicable for both Android, iOS as well as WhatsApp Web services and so on.WhatsApp ensures that the only data that they are sharing is your mobile number and your profile name that was used to create the WhatsApp account. The company also claims that no messages that you send are typically stored on their servers as their end-to-end encrypted and deleted after a certain period say 30 days.

WhatsApp says that the new privacy policy and terms do not throw up any shocking new revelations it’s just that it now gives greater clarity on how WhatsApp and other third-party services access and manage the user data.
