Krishify a farmer centric application has raised $2.7 million in series A round of funding.

There is an app for everything in this era for chatting there is Facebook, WhatsApp. For dating, there is tinder, bumble, and a lot more but there is also an app that is for the farmers. Yes, Krishify is a community of farmers where they can discuss their crop issues with fellow farmers & experts. It is like a social network for farmers to discuss and solve their Agri input needs.

Krishify is an agritech startup focused on creating India’s first digital marketplace of farm input products on top of a farmers’ community network which has over a million farmers. The company has taken a unique approach to build a digital community that many farmers also refer to as “Facebook for Indian farmers”. Through the Krishify community, farmers can not only discuss their cropping issues with peers from a similar background and interest but can also ask questions or anything related to agriculture from a pool of experts, from battling crop disease or pest attack in their crop to best practices for growing contemporary crops. Krishify uses on the fly machine learning algorithms to offer a personalized experience on their app.

Krishify was founded in 2019 by three IIT graduates Rajesh Ranjan, Manish Agarwal, and Avinash Kumar as a networking platform for farmers based in Gurugram.

Farmer-centric platform Krishify on Tuesday said it has raised $2.7 million as a part of its pre-Series A funding round led by Omidyar Network India, Ankur Capital, and existing investor Orios Ventures

Krishify said that this fund will be used to increase the number of users on their platform with more features availing them.

Krishify is targeting to onboard at least 100 million users and unlock a gross merchandise value (GMV) potential of over $10 billion in the next 3-4 years, Ranjan added. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the company is to reach over 10 million weekly active users, it said.

Currently, Krishify has 3.5 million users, which is growing 30% month-on-month.
