Google for women-centric startups!

Google’s accelerator program for nurturing and mentoring startups, which are founded by women, has received more than 400 applications. A cohort of 20 startups has been selected so far.

Startups like Aspire for Her, Tradyl, PickMyWork, OPOD Audio, MeMeraki etc, have made it to the first list of 20 cohort startups.

Google has announced the Startups Accelerator Women Founders program. According to Google, the aim of this program is towards improving the representation of women across different sections of India’s digitally-trained workforce – be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to upskill or young graduates seeking a head start on their career.

Google said that the program includes a curriculum that will include not only workshops and support around AI/ML, Cloud, UX, Android, Web, product strategy and growth, but providing access to a global community of women founders as well.

Google is targeting those start-ups which can be enriched through its prowess in various domains such as machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial technologies.

The initiative by Google India i.e. Google for Startups Accelerator Women Founders was launched in June this year and was focused on women entrepreneurs. According to Google, there will be two cohorts in a year.

Google India has received around 400 applications. The first cohort has 20 women-led startups which have been selected for handholding. Google further said that “the accelerator program would help these startups in areas such as — access to capital, resolving problems in hiring talent, mentorship and other allied challenges faced by women entrepreneurs”.

The list of 20 startups selected in the first list are-

  4. Commudle education – Founder- Arpan Garg
  5. Dubverse – Founder- Anuja Dhawan
  6. Elda Health – Founder- Swathi Kulkarni
  7. Fitbots – Founder-Vidya Santhanam
  8. FreeStand – Founder- Sneh Soni, Konark Sharma, and Kavach Chandra.
  9. Jumping Minds – Founder- Ariba Khan
  10. LXME – Founder- Priti Rathi Gupta
  11. MeMeraki – Founder- Yosha Gupta
  12. Mishry – Founder- Tanu Ganguly
  13. OPOD Audio – Founder- Aakanksha Varude
  14. PickMyWork – Founder- Vidyarthi Baddireddy
  15. Rang De – Founder- Smita Ramakrishna
  16. Savage – Founder- Akshay Rajwade
  17. Sprint Studio – Founder- Justin MacFayden
  18. The Bridge – Founder- Arshi Yasin
  19. TrackNow – Founder – CA POOJA KHEMKA
