The MSME – Intellectual Property Facilitation Center (IPFC) at Guru Nanak Institutions Technical Campus (GNITC) successfully conducted a two-day intensive training program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) on February 21-22,* 2025.
The event featured Mrs. Swarna Srivastava, CEO & Founder of Zeya IP, Gurgaon, Haryana, as the distinguished resource expert, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of intellectual property.
Event Highlights
The training program comprised a series of insightful sessions designed to enhance participants’ understanding of intellectual property laws and best practices.
Day 1 – Morning Session: Mrs. Srivastava delivered an in-depth lecture on critical statutory frameworks, procedural formalities, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for e-filing patents and addressing office actions. She also provided clarity on design patents, followed by an interactive Q&A session, engaging both faculty and students.
Day 1 – Afternoon Session: A comprehensive discussion on the First Examination Report (FER) and patent hearing process offered participants a strategic approach to securing patent grants. Mrs. Srivastava emphasized the significance of annuity fee payments for patent sustainability, ensuring seamless technology transfer and commercialization.
Day 2 – Morning Session: The second day featured an extensive hands-on session on open-source patent databases, including Google Patents, IPINDIA, USPTO, ESPACENET, and PATENTSCOPE. Participants gained practical experience in conducting patent searches and analysis, enhancing their technical proficiency in intellectual property research.
