Flipkart Quick which is the latest service by Flipkart is planning to begin operations in selected locations in Bangalore. The service is basically delivering common items such as groceries, phones, electric appliances, stationary, etc in just 90 minutes The hyper-local service is expected to have an upper hand over its competitors.
The Indian e-commerce platform which is coming with new brand strategies and business plans very often is now introducing a hyperlocal delivery space. The affordable and quick service by Flipkart is most likely to generate a large fan base.
The customers will only have to pay 29 INR for their order and they can choose a 2-hour slot in order to have their ordered products delivered at their doorstep in 90 minutes. The service stays open from 6 Am till Midnight.
The step by Flipkart will definitely help them stay ahead of their competition such as JioMart which is the latest grocery delivery platform by Reliance and also Softbank backed Grofers, Google backed Dunzo, BigBasket and the likes of it.
Sandeep Karwa who is the Vice President at Flipkart said in a statement, “While we start with our dark store (no-walking) model, wherein we enable sellers to store inventory close to the consumer; this model has the potential of encouraging local entrepreneurship and enabling new business strategies and partnerships.”
The company also released a statement that reads, “This technology promises to not only speed up the last mile process, but also bring more accuracy to the address mapping system, hence avoid chances of mismatch or re-attempts.”
