After Google launched its programs like Google for Startups Accelerator and Startup School India for nurturing startups in India. It has collaborated with the Karnataka government for the same objective as for the above-mentioned programs, that is to foster the startup ecosystem.
Google, with the aid of KITS (Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society) will provide training, access to Google tools and technologies, mentorship in various emerging areas of technology like cloud, android, product strategy, web, marketing etc. The MoU was signed during the ongoing Bengaluru Tech Summit 2022, which is supposed to end on 18 Nov 2022.
Developer Relations at Google India, Karthik Padmanabhan, said during the event, “India has a flourishing startup community. Yet not all founders have equal access to capital, support networks or mentorship. These are critical resources that can help the startup ecosystem to continuously learn, innovate and evolve. Through our collaboration with KITS, we want to strengthen the support for the local startup ecosystem, enable equal representation for women and level the playing field across the state.”
In June this year, Google came up with the Google for Startups Accelerator program – for nurturing and mentoring startups that are founded by women.
Google’s Startup School India was launched in July this year, with the aim of supporting and mentoring 10,000 startups in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to help them become startup hubs.
Google will also provide scholarships to those looking for job opportunities in various digital domains. For example, IT support, project management, data analytics, which are in great demand nowadays through its Google career certificates. There is another initiative launched by Google which goes by the name ‘Be Internet Awesome’ with the goal of promoting the online safety of children.
