$23 Million Raised by Filo in Funding Led by Anthos Capital

Filo, an Instant live tutoring startup, has raised $23 million in a funding round led by Anthos Capital.

Existing investor Better Capital along with GSV, Sapling Capital, and a host of well-known individual investors, including Gokul Rajaram, Rob Frohwein- Co-founder of Kabbage, Mate Pencz, and Florian Hagenbuch- Founders of Loft, and Ross Lipson Co-founder of Dutchie, all participated in the round

This Edtech startup has a plan to use all the fresh capital in product development to expand the current team, tap new categories, and scale its tutor base across the country.

Imbesat Ahmad, Shadman Anwer, and Rohit Kumar, the founders of Filo claims to have more than 1.5 million downloads and over 350,000 monthly active users. They have planned to onboard over 200,000 tutors across India and conduct 2 million live classes every day in the upcoming year. They had previously raised a Pre-seed round at Idea Stage, followed by a $2 million seed round in September 2021 – both from Better Capital.
