Facebook and Jio recently joined hands for something epic and it is about to begin. According to the co-founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, they are planning to expand their partnership with Jio platforms with the help of Whatsapp and they will try to reach maximum customers in India. And after that, they will take the operations in other countries as well.
Mark Zuckerberg told analysts, “There is a huge opportunity in India to enable small businesses and individuals to buy and sell on Whatsapp. That starts with enabling payments. A big part of a partnership with Jio is to get thousands of Kiranas onboard onto Whatsapp to do commerce.”
“Once we prove that out with Jio in India, we’re planning on expanding it to more folks in India and to other countries as well. India should be one of the fastest-growing business opportunities as well to help businesses grow there, and we’re very excited about that,” he added.
In the month of April Facebook announced its collaboration with Jio platforms and said that they will be investing $5.7 billion in Jio Platforms Limited of Reliance Digital. After the investment, Facebook became Jio’s largest minority holder.
After the deal finalized between both the companies, Whatsapp integration with Jio Mart was allowed by the Reliance Groups that is going to help people connect with different businesses, products, shops, etc. and it will also work in giving them a seamless mobile experience which is both hassle-free and convenient. Now it would be great to see how everything turned out to be.
